HELP OUR TROOPS

The Social Services Committee is asking for your help to support the deployed service men and women from our congregation.  Throughout the month of September, there will be a collection box in the courtyard to receive your contributions.  Any contributions which exceed the needs of our deployed congregation will be given to chaplains to distribute to other service personnel.  Cash is accepted in lieu of and in addition to your item.  You are also welcome to include a personal message of encouragement.

HELP NEEDED

SNACKS FOR FELLOWSHIP TIME   
are needed, please drop off in the church kitchen by 7:30AM.

  

GOD SQUAD/ JR. HIGH DINNERS:   We are in need of parents (or any congregation members) who would be willing to cook dinner on Wednesday nights for our God Squad and Jr. High youth. There is a sign-up sheet at the youth table on the patio if you are interested or talk to Jim Meyer.

 

GREETER COORDINATOR:  Please consider being the coordinator for our Sunday morning greeters.  You simply call the names from a compiled Greeter’s List, place them in the time slot of their choice, and return the information to the church office. This can be done from your own home and at your own pace. You can do it!   Helpful gifts for this job would be the Gifts of Administration and the Gift of Hospitality.  Not sure what your gifts are?  Come take the Spiritual Gifts class beginning September 16th!  Please call the church office  at 739-1650 or Donna Hinke at 746-0258 if you have further questions.

 

FRIENDLY VISITORS:  We are looking for people who would be willing to make short weekly visits to some of our members who can’t get out.  If you are interested,  or would like more information, we will be meeting at 11:00AM on Wednesday ( after the ladies bible study) in the ministries building or you can call Donna Hinke at 746-0258

 

WORK DAY:  The third Saturday of every month.

OTHER

COMMUNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH has expanded its ministry by taking canned goods, dry food, and clothing donations for the Salvation Army in addition to the N.C.I.C.  The second Sunday of each month is your special date to remember.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES: Homemade cookies are needed for Evangelism. If you could leave 1 dozen on a plastic plate, covered tightly with foil or saran wrap in the church refrigerator and mark it "FOR EVANGELISM", it would be appreciated.

A REMINDER FROM COOKS ON CALL   We will be happy to bring a meal (or meals for up to 3 days) to you, should you have the need - a new baby, home from the hospital, etc. Call Judy Concannon at (760} 747-1741 and we'll come to your home at a convenient time.

Sunday Morning Flowers Members who furnish flowers for Sunday may pick them up after the 11:15 AM service, or flowers will be kept until Tuesday morning and can be picked up at your convenience.
