Women's Ministries
Are you looking for time with other moms to ask questions, share concerns, and grow deeper in God's Word? MAC is a safe, nurturing group for moms of children ages 0 through fifth grade. Learn about God's plans for you as a woman, a spouse, a mother, and a friend. Outside of Bible study, we meet monthly for play group and Moms Night Out. Join either a Tuesday morning or Tuesday evening group. Childcare is offered on Tuesday mornings for a small fee. For registration information, contact here.

Women's Retreats
One day retreats take place each year in the spring and in the fall. Each retreat includes music, discussion, scripture, prayer, reflection, and renewal. Past topics have included "Restore the Joy" (2010) and "Peace Like a River" (2011). Check back for more information about our women's retreat at Mission San Luis Rey coming October 2011. The retreat will be led by Christine Vogelsang and will include a tour of the Mission.
Women's Bible Study
Join us every Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Ministries Building at Community Lutheran Church for Bible study! Pastor Vogelsang leads us through one book of the Bible at a time to give us a better undersanding of Scripture. Meets late August through early June.
Women's Lunch Out
Meet for lunch and conversation with other women at various restaurants throughout the year. Lunch is the third Friday of every month. Check the Information Booth on Sunday mornings for restaurant locations.
The Peacemakers Quilting Group
The purpose of this group is to share the joy of quilting while learning new techniques or working on group projects. Whether you are new to quilting or an experienced quilter, come join the fun and fellowship with other quilters. They meet the third Saturday of the month at Community Lutheran Church from 9:00 -11:00 AM.
One of the most important projects of the Peacemakers group is making prayer quilts. The prayer quilts are an outreach ministry that combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt. The purpose is not to make and distribute quilts, but to promote prayer through the use of quilts. The idea behind these prayer quilts is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with a square knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is said for someone in special need, who then receives the finished quilt and is literally “covered in prayer”. Our motto is: "It's not about the quilt; it's all about the prayers."
Knitters and Crocheters
Meet with other women who enjoy knitting and crocheting on the third Saturday of every month from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Community Lutheran Church in the "Cry Room" located next to the Sanctuary entrance. All skill levels welcome. We also help to supply hand crafted blankets and chemo caps to the children at Rad Children's Hospital.
Sisters Who Are Busy (SWABs)
Sisters Who Are Busy (SWABs) is a once-a-month encounter group that usually meets the third Saturday of the month, August through May, at 10:00 AM in the Library at Community Lutheran Church. This is a non-guilt gathering for women who don't need one more thing on their plate but still want to connect with their Lord. Our discussions vary in topics but include Scripture, prayer, sharing, laughter and sometimes a sympathetic tear. Women feel free to attend when they can and no one keeps attendance, though we miss you when you aren't there. You don't have to be at every encounter to feel a part of the discussion and part of SWABs. Come join us at our next encounter!
Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML)
The LWML is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. The group is for all women of the church, and they hold events such as a Mother's Day Tea, a Christmas Coookie Exchange, and a September Zone Rally.
