San Marcos projects

1. Yard work at a men’s shelter on Nordahl Avenue in San Marcos. We have worked here before and we were going to do it in the fall, but we got rained out. Now the bushes and weeds are REALLY overgrown. Weaver and Margaret Simonson will lead us on this project. Bring your weed-wackers, garden sheers, rakes, gloves, large plastic bags for the cuttings, and your strong back.

2. Help out low income senior citizens at a mobile home park in San Marcos. We will be cleaning exterior windows, weeding, and doing odd jobs. All equipment will be supplied except gloves.

Escondido Projects

1. This is our physically hardest project. Haul out washers and dryers from community laundry rooms, clean, paint, and then re-install the washers and dryers at Aster Street family housing; Interfaith’s transitional housing for previously homeless people. This is where we deliver Thanksgiving food baskets and have painted and gardened in the past.

2. At Corinne’s Cottage, an elderly women’s shelter, we will patch stucco and paint interior closet doors.

3. Visit shut-ins at a local nursing home. This project is always very much appreciated, especially if kids can take part. We will make cards at church and then deliver them with bouquets during our visit.

(E) VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Save the dates: Sun., 6/24 – Thurs., 6/28; 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

(E) new booklet display in the narthex.  " You are invited to view the new booklet display in the narthex.  Feel free to browse and take what interests you.  The booklets are short and to the point, and will answer spiritual questions you might have, or, help you with problems you are currently dealing with.  Booklets with different subject matter will also be available in the future, so, have a look from time to time."

(E) FLOWER MINISTRY NEEDS: Glass jars (mayonnaise size).  NO vases please. Drop them off at the church office.

(E) PRAISE BAND SINGERS AND DRUMMER NEEDED in ESCONDIDO:  Please contact Keith at 760-975-2194.

(E/SM) STEPHEN MINISTRY: All Christians are engaged in spiritual struggle.  Paul writes to the Ephesian church (chapter 6), 10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”  You are not alone in this struggle.  Stephen Ministers are available to support and encourage you. For information talk with Pastor Logid, 760-212-7488.

(SM)     Sunday Morning Volunteers Needed: It takes a lot of work to make a Sunday morning worship service run smoothly!  If you’re interested in helping with set-up, greeting, ushering, singing or playing an instrument, or running AV equipment, please contact Vicar Joel Beyer at or at the San Marcos office 760-510-2007.

(E)The bricks are in!  If you have ordered a brick and would like to know where it was installed, check at the information booth

But in the chaos of raising children, cultivating relationships can take a backseat to just getting the kids fed and to school on time. With in-depth research, heartfelt personal experience and expert advice, Bergren shows you how to keep vital relationships during the parenting years. Look for it in section 649 Parenting.
