FAITH IN ACTION
Last year’s Faith in Action day of service was a huge success, and we’re looking for even more service project leaders this year! If you have a community connection and would like to join the board of outreach and the board of social services as a part of our planning team, please contact Kristen Beyer at kbeyer@clcesc.org or call the church office.

Christian Outreach and Social Services are collaborating for this years "Faith in Action" projects. It will occur on Memorial Day Weekend and we will have more details in the weeks ahead. We are also planning and organizing official training for the Disaster - Care Center in conjunction with the American Red Cross and SDG&E. News will be forthcoming with more details as well.


Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministries is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around our congregation.  

 

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain brings prayer concerns of the congregation and community to fellow “prayer warriors.”  

 

Health Cabinet & Parish Nurse

This ministry sponsors the medical equipment loan program, a twice weekly exercise class, a health library, annual flu shots, the service of remembrance at Christmas (for those who have lost a loved one) periodic blood drives, health articles and health classes.  
 

Baby Shower

Annual collection of clothing, toys and diapers for abused/neglected/foster children at Casa DeAmparo

Clothing Collection

Women’s clothing collected for Battered Women’s Shelter  

Cooks on Call

Meals provided for new mothers or a family experiencing illness or a crisis.

Easter Egg Project

Collection of needed supplies for Community’s Preschool

Food Ingathering

Annual food collection for donation to the Salvation Army and  Interfaith Council

Giving Tree

Community Lutheran members participate with Interfaith Council in purchasing and delivering Christmas gifts to children in need.
