Our Mission and Purpose
Our
Mission Statement
The Mission of Community
Lutheran Church is to welcome all people with open and loving arms, joyfully
proclaiming and teaching the infallible Word of God and His gift of Salvation
through faith in Christ Jesus.
Our
Purpose Statement
We are a welcoming community of spiritually
empowered people, striving to reflect God's love in all that we say and do. We
are a growing congregation, led by the Holy Spirit, following the Great
Commission as we work to spread the Gospel, transform lives, and advance God's
Kingdom in our community and around the world. We have Christ centered education
and fellowship opportunities,
designed to
further our Christian walk, and equip us to use our spiritual gifts for our
ministries within our congregation and for our life missions in the world, in
order to glorify God's name.
Worship
Schedule of Worship
Sunday Worship 7:45, 10:00 and 11:15 a.m.
Communion is observed each service.
Childcare is available in our nursery for newborns and toddlers. The nursery has a silent pager system to notify you if your little one needs you during service. If your little one becomes restless
during the service, an usher can direct you to the nursery. A cry room is also available through the door across from the women’s bathroom. This will enable you to participate in the service with your child.
We invite you to share in our coffee-fellowship time on Sunday mornings from 8:45-9:00 AM at the serving island by the
We believe that saving faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for the proper reception of the Lord’s Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:27)
We believe that in the Lord’ Supper we receive not only the bread and wine, but also the true body and blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins.
We do not believe that the Supper is simply a memorial meal or that the bread and wine simply symbolize Christ’s body and blood. Because of Jesus’ words, “This is my body… This is my blood…”
we believe that Jesus is really, truly, present in, with and under the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper.
We believe that Christ has instituted this sacrament, not as an ordinance to be observed as evidence of faith, but for the comfort and strengthening of baptized Christians who repent of their sins, believe in
Him and intend to grow with the guidance of the Holy Spirit in a more committed life with Christ and His Church.
All those who share our belief are welcome to the Lord’s Table. If you have question or are uncertain about what it means to participate, you are encouraged to talk with the pastor or an elder before participating because Scripture also counsels “anyone who eats and drink without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:29).
Our Values:
Worship-
We accept in faith God’s gift of
grace in Christ through Word and Sacraments and express reverence to the Triune
God in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.
Integrity
– Honesty, openness, fairness, and
grace are paramount in our dealings. We will speak the truth in love.
Prayer
– We seek God’s guidance, wisdom
and protection in all we do.
Christian
Service – We
help members discover their God-given gifts and encourage them to use them to
serve Christ and the community.
Education
for all ages- Teaching children, youth and adults
the Word of God is foundational.
Youth-
Our youth are our future. We will love, nourish and
support them as they grow in their faith.
Caring-
We believe that caring for one another and our
community is our duty and privilege as God’s children.
Hospitality/Welcoming-
We
will welcome and seek to show his love to all whom God brings to us.
Fellowship-
We believe that gathering together
in fellowship and sharing our walk as Christians with one another strengthens
our faith and renews our resolve as we face an unbelieving world.
Outreach- We accept the Great Commission from our Lord Jesus Christ, and therefore share the saving message of the Gospel with the un-churched in our community and around the world.

Children’s
Ministries
Children in Worship
Children
are always welcome at worship, and we encourage parents to help their children
participate in ways that are appropriate to their age levels. Every Sunday
service contains a children’s message. There are also children’s bulletins
available from the ushers or greeters, as well as “Busy Bags” filled with
interesting things to occupy little hands during the sermon. There is also an
un-staffed “cry room” adjacent to the sanctuary from which you can view and
listen to the service during those times when a child’s behavior may be
disruptive to the worship service.
Nursery
There
is a professionally staffed nursery for all worship services. It is located in
Room 1 of our preschool building. The nursery has a silent pager system to
notify you if your little one needs you during service.
Our nursery is fully supplied with diapers, wipes, snacks, toys, books,
and videos. The nursery can be used for the entire worship hour or just for
those “fussy” times.
Sunday School 9:00AM
The
Mission Statement of our Sunday School is “To support families by teaching
children the fundamental stories of faith and to follow God’s command by
training those children for discipleship.” Our ministry program serves
children of all ages. This begins with a Sunday School class for children from
birth through age two. Our other Sunday classes are also year-round and go
through 12th grade. All children ages 3 through 4th grade are invited to
participate in “Opening” with prayer, offering and songs.
Children 5th grade and older go directly to their own Sunday School
classes.
Children
are given their own offering envelopes. These offerings are used to support a
mission child from Ecuador and for local service projects selected by the
children.
