Community Lutheran Church Sunday Worship Services:
7:45, 10:00 and 11:15.

The center of our church life together as a Christian community is our worship service. It is in worship that we dialog with God as He speaks to us in His Word and Sacrament and we respond in praise and prayer. Each week we are strengthened to meet the challenges of our daily life in the community in which He has placed us.

All three of our services are a blended style that draws on both traditional and contemporary music. Lay people participate as readers of Scripture, in presenting children’s messages, and in the distribution of Holy Communion. Three choirs regularly add their music to the services.

Children are always welcome at worship, and we encourage parents to help their children participate in ways that are appropriate to their age levels. Every Sunday service contains a children’s message. There are also children’s bulletins available from the ushers or greeters, as well as “Busy Bags” filled with interesting things.

There is a professionally staffed nursery for all worship services. It is located in Room 1 of our preschool building. The nursery has a silent pager system to notify you if your little one needs you during service.  Our nursery is fully supplied with diapers, wipes, snacks, toys, books, and videos. The nursery can be used for the entire worship hour or just for those “fussy” times. There is also an unstaffed “cry room” adjacent to the sanctuary from which you can view and listen to the service.

LORD'S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven;

Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;

And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil;
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory Forever and ever. Amen.

THE APOSTLES' CREED

    I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
    And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary; Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
    I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Christian Church, the communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Holy Communion is celebrated at all our worship services. The inner ring of each tray is filled with non-alcoholic grape juice. The Lord's Supper is celebrated at Community in the confession and glad confidence that, as He says, our Lord gives into our mouths not only bread and wine, but His very body and blood to eat and to drink, for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another. Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love, as He forgives and loves us, that they may show forth His death until He comes.
PRAYER BEFORE RECEIVING THE SACRAMENT

Dear Savior, we come to Your table at Your gracious invitation to eat and drink Your holy body and blood. Let us find favor in Your eyes to receive this holy sacrament in faith for the salvation of our souls and the glory of Your name; You reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

PRAYER AFTER RECEIVING THE SACRAMENT

Dear Lord Jesus, we thank and praise You that You have again refreshed us with the gift of Your holy body and blood in this comforting sacrament. Bless our participation that we may depart from Your presence with peace and joy in the knowledge that we are reconciled to God. We ask this in Your name.
