Children
Sunday School (Ages 0-5th Grade)
At Community, children are loved and appreciated. We have Sunday School from 9:00-9:45 AM. for all ages of children. There is a 0-2 class that meets in Room 1 of our preschool. Preschool age through 5th Grade begin their time in the Sanctuary with singing and then divide into their grade level classes. Children can be picked up in the preschool following class time.
God Squad (3rd-5th Grade)
God Squad is the name of our 3rd-5th Grade Youth Group. Any child in that age group can be a member of God Squad. We meet September - May on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:00 PM. Our evening consists of game time, dinner and then devotions. Please bring $2.00 to cover dinner costs. Our first meeting for the new school year will be Wednesday, Sept. 7th.
Children's Choir
Children age four through fifth grade are welcome. Rehearsal time is on Wednesday afternoons at 4:30 PM from the end of August through May. The choir sings twice per month in church services and sings at special concerts at Christmas and the end of the year. We also celebrate Christmas with our songs at Redwood Town Court. This choir is directed by Christine Vogelsang.
Organ Assistant Program
Has your child been wanting to get involved in music but has no instrumental experience? Introduce them to the organ and keyboard by allowing them to serve as an organ assistant! On a Sunday morning, they will be responsible for ringing the bells, pushing the organ buttons, pulling the stops, and turning pages to familiarize them with the organ and keyboard instruments. Children are asked to participate in a thirty-minute training before they are scheduled to volunteer about once per month on Sunday mornings. The program is open to children ages 8 through confirmation and is directed by Joyce Roberts.
Drama Ministry
See our Community Players Theater page for information about upcoming productions. Children ages four and up are welcome to audition!
Vacation Bible School
Every year, our church holds a week-long summer camp for families. It begins in the evenings with dinner, then children participate in music, crafts, and Bible lessons, while adults join a Bible study. Vacation Bible School is free and fun for everyone!
Coming Summer 2012...

"Welcome to the Youth Program at Community Lutheran. Our goal within the program is to have young men and women who head into the young adult world equipped to share their faith and live life with a servant heart. In order to accomplish that goal, we spend a lot of time learning through Scripture about what our Lord first did for us and allowing that to spur on our desire to serve those around us. So whether you join us as a 3rd grader or a high school senior, you will hear about the grace given to us through Jesus but also an avenue to live out your faith in your everyday life." - Jim Meyer
